Youth

Dare2tri strongly believes in the power of exercise and sport participation as a means for youth and young adults to gain confidence, build self-esteem, and improve overall health and wellness.  The many benefits gained through participation in Dare2tri programs can positively affect all aspects of a young athlete’s life, including his or her physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Many of Dare2tri’s programs and practices are open to athletes of all ages.  In addition, Dare2tri develops programs designed exclusively to meet the needs of young athletes.

Coaches Dan Tun and Keri Serota are in charge of the youth programs and works closely with Dare2tri coaching staff to develop youth training activities and events that are developmentally-appropriate, education, and fun.

Each summer, Dare2tri hosts a Kids Paratriathlon Training Camp for athletes ages 6 to 21 years old.  The camp is specifically geared to meet the unique needs of young athletes, as well as give them an opportunity to play, participate, and enjoy the camaraderie of being with other youth with similar abilities.

Dare2tri also provides community-based race opportunities specific to youth athletes.  At least two youth-specific triathlons are on the Dare2tri race calendar each year, so that young athletes can challenge themselves and cross the finish line alongside their able-bodied peers, friends, and siblings.
